This screen searches for a file or box using one of three search methods. You can also Link search methods - ie you
can search using more than one type of search.
Once you have located file/box records, you can display details on those records, plus perform a few basic
operations on those records.
You can search using different methods - which one you choose depends on how detailed you want to be in the search
criteria.
Flexible
This search method is actually the most complex and powerful, but it is initially presented as the
default search method as it has been setup to require very little input from the user to get results.
Structured
The Structured Search function allows search definition through what is called Query by Form
(QBF). You enter text into the field that you want to search on. If you enter criteria into more than one field,
then the search criteria will check for records that match all fields.
Range
While a fairly simple search, you have the capability of defining a range of values that a required
record must fall within.
Actions
- Delete selected records (s) - simple - you delete the selected files or boxes. You will also delete any linked records. If you delete a
box, you will also delete the files in that box.
- Relocate Files - you can relocate files from one location to another. See Relocate Files for more details.
- Global modify - you can modify all selected files or boxes. This option is only available to Admin users, and if the Permissions
have not been set to Read-Only.
- Find and Replace - this will search the custom text and Notes fields for the text specified, and it will replace that text with the
new text. See Find and Replace for more details.
