InstallationYou install the Docsminder (client) software on every office computer that needs to run it. Each workstation will also need access to the Internet.You also need to install the Docsminder Server software on the server computer. This will generally be your main office server - but in fact it can be any computer that is on your network. This computer needs to be "visible" on the Internet. This generally means that you will need a broadband connection, a fixed IP address, and that you have setup your firewall/router to allow this computer access to specific ports that Docsminder requires. You install the database on the server computer and configure the Docsminder Server to use that data. In the example shown here, each workstation computer would set their Network Configuration to "Remote" and specify the remote IP address of 255.241.32.254. Please note that this IP address is made up - you would actually enter the IP address of your particular server. LicencingYou will only need to licence the Docsminder Server software. You do NOT need to worry about licensing any of the workstation computers.You can only obtain an Enterprise licence Please note - while we user the term "server computer" here, this is a generic term describing the function the computer is serving. It does not have to be a special "server" computer in the hardware sense, nor does it have to run any Windows Server operating system.
